Preparation for Confirmation is for any high school student in 9th through 12th grade.
The preparation process will occur within a community of peers and adult mentors. Within this community we hope to journey with the Candidates and help them be receptive to the graces God desires to pour out through the sacrament of Confirmation. We are confident that the Lord desires to transform the lives of our youth and enable them to participate in the mission of the Church, and witness to the Christian faith for the rest of their lives!
The preparation process will include times of prayer in Eucharistic Adoration, developing strong relationships with other Confirmation Candidates, and open discussions about the teen's real-life experiences - joys, struggles, doubts, and beliefs - relating to the sacrament of Confirmation as well as other matters of the Faith!
Confirmation Prep will meet on Tuesday nights from 6-7:30pm in the Great Room at St. Pius X.
A Confirmation Retreat will also be a required part of the candidate's preparation journey. We will announce more details about the retreat once a date has been set.
The Confirmation Mass will be hosted at St. Pius X this year. The exact date is sometime between Easter and Pentecost and is set by the Diocese. The Diocese typically announces the Confirmation schedule sometime in February. We will inform families of the date as soon as we receive the schedule form the Diocese.
In addition to Confirmation prep offered to the Candidates, we also want to offer support to parents through their child's preparation process. Parents are invited to join Family Gatherings that will occur on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Family Gatherings will begin with a simple meal and will feature something for the entire family.
